Early in my career I invested much time and money to earn an XCO certification from the XINNIX Academy of Excellence. With over 600+ hours tailored to the mortgage industry ranging from extensive underwriting guideline research to diverse market strategies I've gained a lifelong imprint of the core fundamentals behind mortgage finance. However with an ever- changing industry and market the need to stay attuned to the changes are as important as these fundamentals. Later in my career after the market had already shifted (2009) I was recruited by a very large financial institution to become one of their head modification and short sale underwriters on a contractual basis. Recognizing the value of continuing education and experience in this ever changing industry I eagerly took on the new role. Though I knew that I did not want to remain there for long, I saw the need in this market to understand how banks work from the inside. What determined whether they granted a modification, or not or a short sale or not and what their specific requirements were. This experience helped me see how much it was needed for the people to have a knowledgeable advocate behind them, helping them fight for their home, buy one for the first time, or purchase another home.
